I got a 1993 cx civic hatch and i am planning on swaping a d series engine possibly a D16Z6, i would like to know if i can keep the same transmission on my cx, will it work fine, will it give me the same power as if i boughtt the engine with another transmission, or will the the transmission on my cx take away potential.

get a z6 tranny better gear ratios

 

Get a Y8. Steel shift forks (Y8) > aluminum shift forks (Z6).

The CX has long *** gears. It will work fine but your acceleration will be greatly increased with a better tranny.

yeah you need an ex/si trans to get any perfomance out of that motor. That trans is so long. You will prolly never top out 3rd gear.
