Z6 Swap into CX
I found a cheap, running z6 motor at a junkyard. 400 pulled out of the car and onto the truck for 400 bucks. 130,000 on the cars odometer. Only thing is...its automatic. I can lived with using my CX tranny until I can find a manual z6 tranny, but I don't know if the auto ecu will work out of the EX that the z6 is in, I will probably have a low rev limiter if it does work. Does anyone know what the deal is? I'm not even positive that its a P28 ecu considering its a auto car. Thanks for the help.

Re: Z6 Swap into CX (BouncinOffTheRevLimiter)
yea you would need the manual ecu.
a cx with a z6 tranny would be quicker than a z6 with a cx tranny in the same car anyway.
i bought my full z6 manual swap for 300. you paying 400 for the engine and axles kinda sucks.

definetly beware of online used motor stores. i spent a chunk of change for a jdm d15b vtec and got ripped. payed 950 for motor tranny ecu + free shipping.motor got here, pulled the pan and it was full of water oil mix.the motor wasn't the same one as in the companies website ,, this one was trashed. oh by the way the companies name is japan star motors.. they suck ***.. i had to wait a month for a damn refund, and they tried to make me pay for shipping back on the motor.
leason learned, buy single camers from local junk yard.. prolly the same motor you'll get in the end anyways for 80% cheaper...
