Default milage what works and thanks

I wish to thank users of this site who have helped get the milage of my accord up to what I consider Great. I haven't check trip milage but my around town milage was 27.75 the last tank. Several things have helped a lot. The 38lbs of air in the tires, A tune up of plugs cap rotor etc. , 5w-30 synthetic oil and new air filter(NAPA GOLD). Only got 23-24 around town after purchase a year ago. I have also used Techron and a product called auto-rx to clean out the engine. Trans flushes helped also I think. Hope this might help others who want better milage.

overinflating tires is bad since they will wear quicker and your stopping performance will suffer.

I like overinflating my tires; not only is my gas mileage better, hard cornering wears evenly.

you gotta do what it says on the tire....
....i used to have a tire that was 51psi... one is 36... other ones are 38psi now!!!... I leave 'em all at the specific psi stated on the side of the tire!

The correct tire pressure is always listed on the B pillar of a Honda not the tire.

Lets get this straight on tire pressure. The only correct tire pressure is the pressure that keeps the entire tire tread in contact with the pavement. You can use chalk and make a run and determine how much of the tire gets used. Make a chalk mark across the tire tread including the side walls both inner and outer. If the chalk is still present on the outside edge of the tread of the tire it is overinflated. If it is only present on the side wall both inner and outer it is perfect. If you drive hard you use more of the tread into the corners maybe even the side wall. If you are using the side wall you are underinflated. For us hard drivers 38 is about right.
