hmmm...check your fan fuse...your fan doesn't even come on when your temp is in the red zone? check both your upper and lower radiator hose after your car has warmed up...if one of them is cold, then that means there's something that's blocking your cooling system...if its the lower hose, then that could be an old thermostat that's not opening up. or, you could just borrow someone else's fan to see that your fan is actually working. there's some kind of electrical test you can run on the fan too, but i can't remember what it is or how to do it
I have the exact same problem. I put the b16 in my hf, and the coolant fan doesn't work. I took the fan out and hooked it up to 12 volts and it worked fine, both the wires are sitting at ground that go to the relay. My coolant fan fuse is good, am I missing something? HELP, its like 95 degrees in new orleans already!
Yeah it is really hot here too, I also tested my fan and it works, we must be missing something? I am about to run a switch inside the car and just flip it on and off, but I would really like to just have it work, Hellllllllllpppp, i'm lossing weight fromn sweatin it out in 90 degree weater with the heater on in stopped traffic
this sounds familar when my fan didnt work at a normal temp after my d16z6 swap and the temp just kept rising.
at the connector that hooks up to your fan, make sure both male and female are clean from dirt, rust and most of all from the atmosphere.
i noticed my connectors had some what dirt and rust on it. i brushed it off with a mix of baking soda and water. after doing that..i applied vaseline into the connectors to avoid atmosphere going into it and avoid getting rust on it. i started it back up and after 15mins normal temp and fan started. hope this helps.

my fan didnt come on when i did my ls swap intomy 89 dx hatch...so i solved the problem by wiring it to a toggle switch to turn on when needed..but i just turn mine on as soon as i start the car...quick and easy fix....and you know for sure your fan is working..

the switch(brings back memories). The switch is cool but just remember to actually turn it on and turn it off. The messed up thing is that when i sold my rex, i forgot to tell the guy about the switch
A lot of times, and on a lot of cars, it's just that the fan switch/ relay (apparenatly there's a difference between the two, such that the parts guy had no clue what I was talking about
) needs to be replaced. That was the problem on my crx and a friend's Chevy.
Somethimes these things happen right when you do something major to your car, like an engine swap. There's no correlation between these two things. It just happens to confuse/ **** you off. It's happened to me, and it will happen to you.
