Default overheat problem.........Help

I have a eg with a d16 and up until recently its been overheating.. I got out of my car the other night and saw coolent on the ground and mist coming from the coolent container. I checked it out and there was no broken hoses or anything. The coolent was boiling and coming out from the top of the container.. Are there any idea what it can be?

bad thermostat possibly. Let car get warm, then check the upper hose to see if its warm, if its not, the thermostat is not working, and needs to be replaced.

the fan wont cause that problem. Are you sure its not your thermostat? how did you rule it out?

Try the fan temp switch, thermostat, radiator cap, bleed the system, etc. Also the realy in the fuse box for the fan. This has been covered many times. Next time try a search, there are some great threads on how to fix it.

Jump the fan... run two wires from your battery terminals (1 pos. 1 neg) to the connector on the fan shroud. Unplug it and connect... remember the prong that is connected to the black wire will be your ground. Once you have the wires connected the fan should come on if it is working.

fan temp censor thats your problem i had the same problem with my lx. Censor sits on top of your thermostat. Quick fix run a direct switch to your fan so you can turn it on when your engine starts to warm up. untill you can get another censor.
