I need help guys. I need to know if LS gears fit onto a GSR/Type R countershaft. I have to buy one to get my ITR LSD into my LS tranny.
Whoever told me all I needed was a 4.400 final drive was wrong. I need the entire countershaft as well. The LS one doesn't let the bearings/housing seal up right.
When I buy one, I don't want to be screwed cuz my LS gears won't fit....and I don't want to use GSR/Type R gears on my Turbo LS motor.
Thanks.

Why would you need LS gears to install an LSD? That makes zero sense.
All Hydro B series gears interchange, btw . .

Plus the gearing is wrong. The countershaft has the final drive gear built in, so in order to covnert to 4.4, you'd have to switch countershafts regardless of gears . . .

I've got one (4.4 countershaft) $50 shipped. . .

Just for confirmation, yes the gears from the Ls/GSR/ITR are interchangable. Some of the cars here are running JDM 4.785fd and GSR 5th gears to keep the revs down on the freeway.

Okay thanks.....the reason I needed to switch the final drive is because the LSD I have is from a 98 Spec JDM Type R.
Some guys on HT told me all I needed was the final drive ring gear. The countershaft gear (idle gear) was part of that....I didn't know that.
$50 eh? I need it quick! Can you do next day air? Thanks.

I knew the gears were interchangeable, but by that I thought people meant that the GSR gears can fit into an LS housing, etc.
