99 civic ex motor mounts are all good when i punch it the shifter comes back!! ??

Inside the tranny is a possibility...

I upgraded my clutch and beat the **** out of my tranny, my shifter would go all crazy in gear like slamming back and when i let off in 4th, it would bounce forward.

I ended up takin the tranny apart and the main shaft had so much play it wasnt even funny.

Replace the shifter bushing, check to make sure the shifter pin is in, but as a last resort, it could be inside ur tranny

 

this happened to my crx, I always thought it was soft mounts, but then I got poly mounts, still did it you could feel that it was in the tranny, and not due to the engine moving back and forth weird could never figure it out.

 

mine did this with brand new mounts. get the energy suspension inserts off ebay for like 30 $ for front and rear . they work great.
