Default Built B16 running on stock ECU? Will it work?

Question...

I have a built B16
9:1 wiseco pistons
stock bore
550 RC injectors (gonna replace with stockers if you guys think this will work)
Stock EM1 ECU.

Anyway, do you guys think this ECU will run a built 9:1 engine so I can get it to a dyno (about an hour or so away)? I know, vague question, but I need an answer. I'm overseas right now and want to start planning for this thing so it'll be as smooth as possible.
TIA

Maybe you can ask the tuner to make a base map for you and send it to you so you can drive it there?

If you have stock injectors yes it will work. However you are going to need a little bit of timing advance to make up for the lower CR. You can advance the timing by rotating the dizzy top end towards the firewall. BTW is this with a turbo installed or without the turbo installed?

Would probably be WITH the turbo installed, but staying out of boost. Or I guess I could always just slap on a stock manifold, drive there, change everything over to the turbo setup and then drive it back tuned.

So you guys think that it would be ok to drive with a little timing advance?

Either stock timing or slightly advanced will be ok. Also you'l probably just want to drive there with your stock mani and stuff, then swap it over when you get there. If you do drive it down there with the turbo stuff installed juts make sure you keep an eye on your vacuum/boost gauge and keep it out of boost. You can drive it with the turbo stuff installed but it's just really risky. It would probably be a better idea to just drive it down there with the stock stuff installed.

Nope. Going home to Kansas to put the car back together in a few months then to Hawaii. Yeah, hate me now.
Thanks for all the pointers so far guys.
As of right now I'm going to put a stock manifold or a header on there and drive it to the tuner and then swap the turbo stuff in.
Thanks.

PM Phearable on this board and he can set you up with a chipped ECU with a basemap to get you to the dyno no problem.

Already have a chipped GSR ECU with a rewriteable chip. Have the moates burner and everything. I'm all set, I just need to get this damn car to the tuner safely.

u can run it with the turbo hooked up, but just disconeect it somewhere before your throttle body, if u can get a filter on there that would be great too, that way you wont get boost to your IM, but u still wouldnt want to run it at high rpms cuz u could overspool the turbo

I'd rather have it all the way off and not risk frying the turbo. I mean hell, it's just a matter of about 30 minutes of work to take a header off and hooking the turbo manifold (fully assembled with turbo and downpipe) charge pipes and oil lines up. Nothing too crucial. That's easy. I was just wondering if I could actually run the motor with 9:1's instead of stock pistons on a stock ECU.
Thanks again for the info guys. I'm feeling a hell of a lot better about this. Can't wait to get back to the states now to get this baby rollin'.
