For a school project of mine I am looking to make a chamber to hold ~500 - 800 PSI. Originally I was going to use thick walled aluminum tube, about 4 inches long and 2.5" in diameter. It needs to have various fittings and support bolts welded/attached to it.

It seems as if its getting a little too heavy for what I need it for. How realistic is it to think I could use carbon fiber ot make a tube? What else could I consider to make my chamber out of?

 

Look into 'lost foam molding' for a carbon fiber plenum.

how feasable is it to use one of these tubes, and have fittings mounted to the side of it?

will they hold up to ~500 PSI?

 

to be honest I don't know. I would email Adam about it he would know best. Sorry, Adam is the owner of that tube company if you got lost
