How do i stop my locks from freezing up?
Hi i have a frequent problem, i live in Canada and every day my locks are frozen!!!! when i try to open it it feels like i am going to break the lock i use all those lock deicer products and most of them work until i need to unlock them again.. i no it happens to people sumtimes but for me its all the time, should i replace the locks? please help thanks
i would try some wd-40, also how worn out is your key? sometimes with a worn out key, not all the pins are pushed in having this frozen affect. had the same problem when i bought my civic, went to a lock smith and had 2 new key made.

NO!
Graphite; get it, use it, and love it. Spray the **** out of your lock to make sure you get any water or dirt out.
You can get this stuff at any Crappy Tire.

I agrea with you on this WD-40 evaporates after a while leaving just the alcohol which dwaws in more moister.
Get some of that graphite stuff, or I used a white lithium grease on mine.
Either case take them out clean them up real well and brease all the moving parts heavily and thouoly. then reassemble and you should be good to go. I did that to my passenger side lock that would bind up all the time and never lock unless you hit the button 3 times now it works better then the drivers side.

The problem with Lithium grease is that is gums up when it gets cold. When it is about -40 outside the stuff is pretty thick.
