When I did have my radar thats the way I had it. It doesn't get in the way but it looks ugly. So what you can do is just tuck the wire under and half away around the e-brake. It's alot better that way but only works with the e-brake down.

Hardwire so that it tucks behind the dash all the way to the vin plate then down to the fuse box. There should be a how-to somewhere on s2ki.com. Its a great mod to look into.

Default um

technically a radar dectector does you no good because by the time that it detects either the laser beams or radar beams, its too late and it has already locked onto you. plus you always have the stupid factor of false alarms. i suggest buying a police scanner.

this aint fast and the furious lol

the detector has worked for me plenty of times. many many times, the beam doesn't have to be shooting at you to be detected, the presense of the frequencies/wavelengths the radar puts out is what is picked up from my understanding, the laser yes, that sucks, it still picks it up but they might already have you on this.

There has been instances where it goes off and I can't even see in front of me where the cops are posted up, no way possible to get my speed, it picks them up going around turns and bends as well.

You'd be a fool to discredit detectors if you've never tried one, *especially* if your local PD uses radar extensively. Laser... yeah, you're fucked.

Radar waves from your typical radar gun can bounce off walls, other vehicles, the landscape, etc etc... Meaning you don't need line of sight to pick up the waves. It's not uncommon for me to pick up a cop about a mile away with nothing even close to direct line-of-sight. My little X50's saved me at least one or two tickets (like the DPS officer hiding behind a bush on I-10 at like 1:30am ) and it's already paid for itself considering how high my insurance rates would jump if a ticket got slapped on my record.

Valentine 1 or Escort Passport 8500. I have the Escort right now but upgrading to the Valentine soon. The escort does pretty good but the Valentine 1 is better, plus it's the only detector that has arrows on it letting you know which direction their coming from

F-in priceless!

V1=prepaid get out of jail free card

I swear by my V1. Although, the little alligator clip that comes with it is almost rendered useless because it's made to cut into wire that's 18 gauge or higher (skinnier). Most accessories use larger wires so you have to pre-strip the insulation. Other than that, you're set.

Don't listen to those company advertise sh$t. Them RADAR DETECTORS is not gonna help you at all. I bought the Escort Passport 8500 and bought 2-3 speeding tickets in the same year ( I ended up no license for 6 months ). My friend also bought Valentine V1 and still get ticket left and right

Save those 300$ - 400$ for a custom exhaust, So you can SMOKE them cop laser gun

See how you've got the word "Detector" in caps? That should clue you in on what the device does. It DETECTS radar, it doesn't jam it or magically make your car invisible to cops.

Using COMMON SENSE and a radar detector, I have not gotten pulled over yet. *knock knock* I had a 8500, but ditched it for the V1 w/ concealed display. I like the V1 better, because the customer service is better, the unit can be upgraded 10 years down the road, and the arrows. For those that knock the arrows, I'm sure you haven't given them a shot yet. It's nice to be able to tell if the fading/gaining radar is coming from in front or behind, which will tell you if the cop is heading in the other direction away from you, towards you, or they're going the same direction in front/behind you.
