knock sensor..CEL?
i'm pretty sure vtec would still work, the ecu only looks for knock at certain rpms, but I know that once you throw the code, the ecu retards your ignition timing, so you'll lose power throught the entire rpm band.

its not limp mode, it just pulls so much timing that it feels like it. limp mode has a rev limiter, and I know from experience that this cel doesn't cause that.

Well when I had the knock sensor cel it wouldn't let me rev higher than my vtec engagement.

agreed witj above guy. My knock sensor wire is screwed somewhere and the ecu isnt reading it. I still have vtec, and rev as high as i like. I just notice I'm not pulling as hard as I should. I'm going to just get a chipped p28 when wallets approves of it that elminates knock sensor.
A knock sencor CEL either means the sensor is not working, or the wire is broken. It will not put your car into limp mode, and VTEC will still engage. Although you MIGHT have some power loss.
Why is the CEL light on? Mine had a problem on my B16 because the sensor wasn't tight enough in the block. Kept coming loose and throwing a CEL.

I have this CEL too.. I don't really feel my vtec kicking in but I bought the car with it on so I never felt it with vtec. I'm with one of the guys who said they are getting a chipped p28, once I get some stuff paid for that is what I am buying next.
