Sunny Side Up
I've had ITR 97-0298 in storage for the winter since late October. Before putting her away I added some fuel stabilizer and gas line anti-freeze. Each week I will let her run for a few minutes.
Last night I decided to take her for a little gun around the block. I let her warm up for 10-15 minutes and off I went. Everything went fine untill I was about to drive her back into the garage. The car starts to sputter when attempting to touch the throttle, and the smell of ROTTEN EGGS is coming out from the exhaust. My idle is also bouncing like a basketball.
Anyone have experience with this, or know what it might be?
Car is bone stock with the exception of a Spoon Drop in filter.
Thanks to all who respond with useful info.

Correct me if im wrong but rotten eggs from the tail pipe means your running too rich and causeing the cat to pump out some nasty smells. You might check the plugs to make sure your getting good spark.

If they're good I would check the distributor also.

"smell of ROTTEN EGGS" Usually comes from a poor condition cat.
It could be from bad gas or the catalyst material is going bad. Drain the gas, replace the fuel filter and put new, then take the car out for a 30-60 drive. I bet it will be much better.

Do you think that the gas is gone bad, even with fuel stabilizer, and considering that the gas is only 2 months old. I did notice a rattle coming from where the cat is located at 2,000 RPM, or it might be the heat shield that is rattling.
What I don't understand is that the car was running perfectly fine when i took it for a 15 min spin. It started to act up when I was about to put in away.

I've let my car sit for longer than that, without fuel stabilizer. *shrug*
That is really odd though. Could be running too rich, could be catalytic converter, could be crappy gas.
Good luck...
(p.s. google sulphur smell catalytic converter.. http://www.google.com/search?h...earch )
