Wiring Question. 92 EX vs 93 CX main wiring help please
ok i just need to know if the main harness from the 92 Si/EX would be the same as the 93 CX/DX or would there be some wires switched around in any of the pins.
me and my friend are thinking they might have some different pin locations on the plugs in the engine bay.
the reason is that i have a B16 with a CX engine harness on it and putting it into a 92 SI/EX shell. we were having a problem when we gave it gas it would die out and my friend thinks the TPS sensor wires might be oppisite on the SI/EX main harness compared to the CX harness and he wants to switch them to see if it makes a difference.
i dont think there would be a difference, but because the 92 was the car that came prewired for vtec and such, i just wanted to make sure there wasnt a difference
JDMlyfestyle can chime in here and help

I would check this. My 92 hatch was a 1 wire o2 sensor, had to rewire it. An easy, but time consuming way would be to make a diagram of your plugs and trace where the wire go one by one and compare to your friends car.
Something else that is possible. When you swapped the motor into the new shell, had the new shell been sitting for a while? If so, I would drain the gas tank of the old gas, there is a possibility of water in the tank which would make the car run terrible or not at all depending on how much water is in the tank. Have you replaced the fuel filter? Or there could have been trash in the exposed rubber fuel hose that comes out from under the firewall and connects to the engine.
There are lots of other possibities. Did you use the same ecu as before? Adjustable FPR? Hopefully you can get it running properly

one wire for the cx and 5 wire for the vx...

yea thanks we got it running right today, in the 1st 10 mins lol
the tank had a slow leak around the drain plug cause the buddy i got it from didnt replace the crush washer and re-used it and it didnt seal. when we put the motor in it was sputtering and **** and when we touched the gas it would bog. we looked at teh gas gauge today before we put gas in and it was below E
bought $5 of supreme and put it in, started right up no codes and ran real nice
i just gotta replace the crush washer on the drain plug and hope it seals, if not i got a tank lined up for it.
thanks for all your help and heres a pic or 2 of the shell i got for $1000 CDN
(flame away on the CF hood, im not fond of it, but he didnt have a stock 1)

Glad to hear you got it running and glad I could be of assistance. Good luck with all other mods in the future
You need springs?
I have a virtually new set of Tein's I am about to get rid of for $80 (they have maybe 100 miles on them.
I am also trying to decide on whether or not to sell my ground controls.... not sure yet
