Default Bad axel? Read for more info.

Guys what are signs of a bad axel? My car is shaking a little bit and when i drive real slow, like 10 mph it kinda jerks back and fourth, and if i drive real slow it feels like i have a buble in my driver side tire, which is where the bad axel is. Sound like an axel issue? Can the axel completely go out and leave me stranded somewhere?

yup, a bad cv joint can definatly leave you stranded. It's happened to me 3 times. What you described sounds like it could be your axle going bad. Have you taken your front wheels off any time lately? If so, i'd check to make sure the lug nuts are nice and tight. A loose wheel could make your car jerk back and forth like that too.

Ya the wheel is fine, beacuse it did this when i had my other set of wheels. My boot is split, and there was grease everywhere. I havn't gotten around to repairing it but i know its bad, and ive been told its bad. I just didnt know if the rocking back and fourth feeling was associated with my axel. Its not so bad at high speeds, but anthing below 40 makes it pretty evident that its there.

yeah, i'd definatly change that axle as soon as you can. Once the boot rips, water gets inside and you lose all your grease.

Ya i just don't know how to fix it. Ive never done it before. A shop wont do it beacuse its not a stock axel used for that year and the motors in that year or some bullshit.
