Dc5-R Brembos on a Dc2-R?
i searched and found info on brembo gt kits and others but not much about putting dc5r brembos on a dc2r
i was wondering if anybody has any expierence with this, or might know something about doing it, im talking about front and rear
i was wondering because this seems like a nice upgrade, because you could still run 16''s and maybe some 15''s instead of having to run 17''s like other brake kits
and you could still probally run regular rotors, ie inexpensive autozone rotors
thanks for any and all help you guys might give

do a mock-up jig of what the caliper bracket would need to be, find the correct diameter 5x114.3 rotor, and tell a machine shop what you need. let us know what you come up with

My gf bought some dc5R brembos for her 05 civic...so since i was storing her brakes in my garage, i tried to see how i could make them work on my 96dc2R....the only thing that worked is that the caliper bolted directly to where my caliper bracket would go...thats about it...besides that, u need a big caliper spacer, custom bracket, and BIGGER rims! not really worth it in my opinion...the caliper and rotor weigh a ton more than my factory.

No.
Not imo. But you know how those vary around here.
To each his own. I'll just have to keep a look out for all those under-used stock R calipers so I can scap em up at a cheap price and have loads of spares for parts and rebuilds.

BTW the calipers on a DC5 are trailing and if you put them on an Integra, you have to make them leading. What is the difference you ask? Well, there is a thing called differential bores. The two sets of psitons are not the same size. This is to control pad taper. You will need to remove the plugs in the caliper and swap them with the bleed screws. I have no idea if you CAN actually do this on those calipers, because the holes may not be threaded the same. If you do not do this, your pad taper will be twice as bad as say using a normal stock ITR caliper because the differential bores will be opposite of what you need them to be.

Thread re-started...its been done. A member on ITR-DC2 forum in the UK done the conversion to his DC2 and his car is a JDM 96spec (4 lug)
Read here>>> Click although its not very technical as he had a company called V-spec do it for him so theres no real info on whats needed...unfortunately!

jdmdc2r, it's not a good idea to use the tow hooks for the jack stands, both of mine bent when my mechanic had the same brilliant idea. i also read the brembo thread in the uk itr forum, unfortunately it doesn't provide any details on how the conversion was done

The solution is to swap calipers left-to-right and vice versa, same deal as with Legend calipers. Still some problems (like with the bleeder screw being upside down), but it apparently works.

Put the bleeder upside down. Brake fluid is by far more dense than air. You really think a tiny air bubble will push its way through the top of the caliper? Possible, but not likely if using the right tools.
