Default NSX caliper upgrade new found info!!!!!

Ok I asked around and no one seemed to know the answer. "Do NSX rear calipers fit onto a civic/integ rear" the answer is NO. My full front and back NSX brakes came in the mail and I dry fitted them. The fronts work like a charm but the rears do not fit. the spacing between the bolt holes of the caliper bracket are father apart and require a larger bolt than the stock civic/integ rear caliper bracket. Maybe I could get something custom made but doesnt seem worth it.

Oh question on rotors. the rear NSX rotors are 11 inch like the fronts. They are 21mm thick and The front rotors are 28 mm thick. Both are vented. I was thinking of using the rear rotors upfront to save weight however Im concerned about the thickness. the rotors are thinner so then the caliper pots will have to move out farther. I know people have used Legend rotors or ITR rotors. arent these 23 mm? Im concerned cause doesnt NSX have a minimum thickness for the stock front rotors? is 23 mm thinner than the minimum thickness? Or does that only matter for the rotor and not the caliper.

this has already been figured out as far as i know... fastbrakes sells the correct bracket adapter to make them fit in the rear.

eitherway

oh hey thanks I didnt know that. Boy where were you when i asked. I get stupid people wasting my time with things like "why upgrade a civic?" "isnt that overkill" morons.

did I ask for their opinion? I just want better brakes. I mean isnt a H22 in a EG overkill? not really but heavy. anyway thanks

No, I wouldn't use the rear rotors on the front.

The front rotor last service thickness shouldn't be thinner than 26mm, and it says the minimum should be stamped on the rotor.

I looked but could not see it. I will look again when i install them.

The thing is the minimum rotor thickness, isnt that for the sake of the rotor and not the caliper? I mean the piston could theoretically move out to accomodate a 21mm rotor. How thick are the ITR rotors? Also people are using ITR rotors with their NSX calipers. They are 23mm. That is definatley below stock NSX rotor thickness right? But it works. So would 21mm be pushing it? thanks for your replies

The reference I have says the fronts are 23mm thick and min service thickness of 21mm and service limit of 1.6mm. So I guess a min thickness of about 19.4mm.

I would worry about the piston seal tearing if it moves out too far, that's how my integra front caliper seized up, dang tore seal.

Boy, you are really pushin' those calipers to their limits hehe. Just go with what is proven to work already.
