Default Breather kit + Valve cover question...not the same old thing

I have an Endyn breather kit - a catchcan between the PCV valve and the intake manifold if I'm not mistaken (I wasn't the one who put it on). I have found through research (mostly people telling me) that having a breather filter on the valve cover can be bad, especially at WOT because it will saturate the filter and basically clog it up and prevent venting. Well, now I have a question. Can I run a regular line from the valve cover fitting where the filter is now, and T it into the line running to the catchcan and have it work right? I want to be able to trap the oily vapors in the catchcan rather than just have nothing on the filter and have all that crap getting all over my engine.

Here's a pic - the red line is where I would like to run the line, and again...I believe the top line goes to the PCV valve and the line under it (hidden) goes to the intake manifold.

Also included is a picture of the unit from a website so you can see the fittings

If this will NOT work, can you please suggest a way I can make it work using this catch can (I really don't want to buy another one)

AFAIK your question has not been resolved on H-T. Here is a good discussion https://honda-tech.com/zero...age=1

Normally I'd recommend you try using the search feature, but this topic is already being discussed on this page.

My personal opinion, I would recommend against running your valve cover breather to a catch can or cap it off with a mini filter. Under most conditions the valve cover breather pulls air into the head. IMO having a fresh source of air (using a slash-cut in the intake arm if necessary) is more important than trying to filter out the negligible amounts of oil vapor that maybe be expelled from the breather at WOT. I ran 6-7 psi of boost and never had a problem with blow-by at the valve cover breather. I used an Endyn can like yours between the block and the IM, and that was sufficient.

OK, I read through that thread a few days ago, but didn't see what I needed. I appreciate the info, and I guess I'll just leave the filter off and see how that works.

Breather filter on the valve cover is fine imo. It shouldn't get saturated by anything, there is a baffle right beneath it to keep oil from splashing up there.

Edit: is your R na? IIRC na installs of that breather kit are supposed to have a PCV valve on the top of the catch can vented back to the intake, not a filter open to the atmosphear.

OK, so I won't T into that line, but I don't want to leave that filter on if it's getting clogged all the time, and I don't want to just leave it open if it sprays oily stuff all over (fire hazard for one, and a mess too). Would it then be OK to just get a piece of hose and use it kind of as a drain tube, running it down so it could just blow whatever air comes out (or sucks whatever air comes in) from down under the engine, or at least partway down?
