Yeah me and like 20 others cars I've tuned. Personal enough
? The surfaces should be smooth enough that it'll work. The carbon build up will seal tiny cracks. It's not a big deal to not run one, so if it's hard to find one don't worry about it.

I was told/read on turbod16 that the T25 style would work just fine. What doesn't work about it? You should be able to use the one from an 86 Turbo thunderbird, but thats just a T25 style.

i've got the greddy kit, and i dont run one, all i did was buy some of that copper gasket spray and spray it on both surfaces, and before i did that i took my dremel with the wire brush and polished the surfaces of any tiny rust pits etc...
just make sure both surfaces are pretty flat and use that copper gasket spray on it to seal any imperfections and you'll be fine
hope it helps

well i went and got the only gasket available from mitsubishi , its too square, its a small T3 rectangle, my friend had his greddy kit with no gasket and it leaks when its cold and sounds like ****. has little white heat markson the mAni, of course if it was perfectly flat im sure that wouldnt happen. i just dont wana risk it.
