yeah and some people run an afc hack with no problems either
im just saying that you are suppose to have a gasket..if you dont have one and the surfaces arent perfectly flat then you are gonna have an exhaust leak at one of the last place you want it..right before the turbo. if you cant get a gasket ide check to make sure they are flat, or spend the extra money and go get the surfaces machined

There is a copper silicone gasket maker that can with stand up to about 1200 degrees. In my setup i used the gasket and the gasket maker to get a really good seal. I wouldn't run without a gasket if i were you. It doesn't create a perfect seal and you could get a leak in you system.
Greddy kit has a gasket between manifold and turbo. It never leaked on me when I had the kit (w/gasket). But, guess you can always try without one and let us know how it goes
. It should be okay, the surfaces were machined.

Just to let you know when you have two metal surfaces in an engine bay rubbing against each other that get past the 1000 degrees marker you have expanding and contracting metals that moves depending on temp. Your engine torques back and fourth all the time when you beat on it and the exsaust is always moving to. Most likely you're gonna get some kind of leak. I'd just go to the store and by a gasket for 12 bucks instead of putting it all back together and finding out that you can't boost right because of a leak in you ****. But hey, thats my opinion and you don't have to do what i think if you don't want to.
EDIT: put it this way would you run without a head gasket. your head and block were also "machined"

I agree just put a gasket on it, no need to be a pioneer.....Just do what has been done since cars were first made, You can get a metal gasket from honda for 14 bucks, shouldnt break yur wallet to bad

only reason i dont want to buy a gasket is cuz i dont know where to get one. my manifold and turbo didnt come with one... i bought it used. i just had my manifold sand blasted by a friend.
After sandblasting i noticed a small crack in the mani. its inside so the blasting cleared all the carbon build up so i could see the crack. yay another problem. i swear i got the greddy kit from hell.
anyone know where i can get a gasket... i dont care about the $$ i want it done right.

maybe a greddy dealer, or a company that deals with alot of turbos....you could also try and find out what, if any other turbos will bolt onto the greddy manifold and find a car that comes stock with a turbo that shares the same exhaust flange and go to a dealer and get a gasket.
they do make a sheet of make your own gasket for some applications, mostly like for water/oil. im not sure if they make anything thats high temp that you can cut your own gasket from but you can look online

I used permatex ultra copper in between the pieces of a two piece header and it held up for a while, but given a couple months it had been affected by the heat and went bad. I am sure the same thing would happen on a turbo, maybe even faster.
if you need a gasket casue the surfaces dont mate perfectly flush head down to a ford dealer and ask for a SVO stang or TB turbo gasket. like $3.50

I went to NAPA and got a sheet of gasket material used for the turbo gaskets on Ford turbo desils. Its a ceramic/metal type gasket material and has to be cut to your application using sheet metal sheers or a dremel. Kind of difficult to cut since you cant bend it or the ceramic will crack and make it useless, but a dremel should get the job done without bending it..
hope that helps..

Eeeek!! Your turbo manifold has a crack in it?? hopefully you didn't pay that much for the turbo kit..... Even if its a small crack you could have a leak that you can't see.
