has anyone seen a 1/4" or 1/8" npt to 1/8" BSP fitting?

 

nevermind ... bsp threads into npt easy...just add hondabond

 

mcmastercarr.com sells the adapter...

 

bspt has 28 threads per inch , npt has 27 --- do it right and get the adapter

 

do they have a NPT male/BSPT female though...that's what he asked for

 

95% sure thats where I got mine

 

i have taps that came in my craftsman tap & dye kit that both 1/8 x 27 and 1/8 x28 i gues the 1/8x28 is bspt then?

Yes McMaster and many other people sell this exact fitting. If you are using this to go into your block then GET THE BSPT ADAPTER!

I've seen male BSPT/female NPT, but not the other way around...

maybe that's what he meant

The only reason I would think you would need this is if you really dont want to mess up your stock pressure switch. Thats where I used it, so I could keep my stock dummy light and not mess up the threads on the stock switch.

I guess...but I'd much rather have a gauge that tells me the pressure than rely on a light that tells me when there is NO pressure

Ohh and a defi BF gauge can't hurt the inside of the cabin anyway

 

i just now found out that the greddy oil sandwich uses bspt threads, and I have a 1/8th npt plug in it now for the extra port, i used some teflon tape and have had no problems

I have the Defi gauge I just use a firewall distribution oil feed setup and a backup light never hurts since it cost me all of 4$ for the fitting.

long complicated story lol to cut it short...my oil pressure switch is threaded into a golden eagle sandwich adapter now. Ill have my eye on it the next few days though...

It should be fine as long as you used Teflon tape. Although your oil pressure switch will never be the same. This is most important only when tapping the feed line into the block.

Hence this male BSPT to female NPT adapter seen above in the lower pic.
