I need help with my wheels
Ok I just installed my 17's on my 96 GSR and the damn things just rub on every bump. The car is dropped 2 inches with H&R springs and has stock shocks. The wheels are 17" x 7" with 215/40/R17 on them. How can I stop the tires from rubbing??? My tires even have cuts in the sidewalls from this crap. I know many people have a similar setup and no problem, so what the hell is with mine.
Do I need new shocks or something. HELP

I bought the rims from a friend and dont know the offset. Does it say somewhere on the wheels. What is an acceptable offset range to stop the rubbing. THey came off a del sol and didnt rub there at all.
Take one wheel off and look at the rear of the spokes. You will see the size, width and offset of that particular wheel. The offset is usually stamped on the spoke unless you have wheels that have stickers on the inner rim. For 17x7 you will need at least +38mm to be on the safe side. Even with +40mm on ITR's, you might have problems running 215/40/17 size tires. 205/40/17 will be fine with +40mm wheels.
