oil leak...

Default oil leak...

i just replaced a b16 block in my ek with another b16.. the problem is that when i start the car oil leaks from the passenger side of the motor below the dizzy (no not the dizzy o-ring). it looks like its coming from in between the block and the head. I also have both dowel pins in. I have taken the head off and replaced the head gasket w/ a new honda one and torqued everything to spec and yet this still happens. what should i do?

also..im pretty surei have the head gasket on correctly because it says "UP" on it.

no its not the cam seal...the oil is leaking on the plateau where the block and tranny come together.

i had the same problem. its probably running down the head where you cant see it( its pretty tight in there. i replaced cam seal(plug) and vtec soleniod o-ring and it stopped.

im really wondering if the block just needs to be decked or something because my head was just milled to make sure it was flat. it could be possible that the block was warped right?

it could also be leaking through the dizzy and leaking out of the bottom of the cap, i had this problem on a 200,000 mile motor it was just worn out remove the cap and see if you see oil

I really sounds like it's coming from the dizzy or cam cap seal. Being that the head has been removed and installed a few times from what you've said it probably wouldn't be a bad idea to have the head checked. Just for ships and giggles clean your block and head very well on that leaky side with some degreaser or carb/brake cleaner and let it dry. Then spray some spray anti-persperant deoderant on the area above and below the possible leak. Make sure you use spray deoderant because it will dry white. The source of your leak will show very quickly when you start up the car.

That's what I was going to suggest.

You could always check to see if the block is warped before you pull it all out.

yeah im really sure that the leak is not coming from the cam seal or dizzy o ring. i have a really good feeling that the block was warped because i had just gotten my head milled before i had put the motor together.
