gas mileage????
hey guys im new to this forum, i just purschased a 2000 gsr 5 speed last week. well like the title says, ive got a question about gas mileage. i filled up my tank friday nite and it was gone by sunday afternoon. i only got about 240 miles to that tank. on this new tank of gas, it kinda seems like im gunna get about the same amount. ive kept my foot out of it on this tank. the gauge is sittin at half tank and ive only gone 140 miles. as far as i know, the car is all stock. any input would be greatly appreciated. thanks guys.
Are you spending most of your time on the higihway or on the streets?
My highway mileage is about 30-31 mpg, but my city mileage is absolutely terrible, like 18-20 mpg or so.

it seems like i get better gas mileage in the city rather than on the highway. but i just drove it about 30 miles on the highway and it used about a 1/4 tank. i was doing nothing but highway driving this weekend and it wasnt all that great.
well for one thing, you can never ever go by gas gauge by saying " i went 25 miles and I used 1/4 of a tank!!" or somethin like that.
car manf. screw w/the gas gauge from the factory..ususally make the first half seem to go real slow, then when it gets to 1/2 full or only a 1/4 left, the needle dives...

yeah thats true... when it gets to about 1/2 it just dives and is not as accurate as it really is... good thing you brought this up cuz i was as a matter of fact concerned about my gas mileage as well these past few days... ive noticed i been having to get gas more often nowadays... i filled up my tank today and it was 8.594 gallons to the tank... and i drove it for 221 miles before getting gas today again... so after calculating it i was like "aww man im only getting 25.7 miles per gallon" im kinda not too happy about that number cuz those are all highway miles and from what i know, integras are supposed to go like 24 in da city and 31 highway

you might want to check all you regular maintanance things like:
air filter
fuel filter
oil filter
spark plugs
tire pressure
replace the filters and plugs if you haven't for a while, all this is only $30-40 and a couple of hours of time

If it still seems wrong, you might want to do the maintenance.
