Default Turbo b16 clutch choice

Looking to make around 240-250whp, currently i have an oem type-R clutch/pressure plate/flywheel combo, and i love it....i just don't know if it will hold the power..I don't want an extremely agressive clutch as this is my daily driver..(my friend has a 6 puck sprung action clutch and the pedal pressure is NUTS!!)...So what would be the clutch that would require the least amount of effort, but still hold the power?....thanks in advance guys...

I would definately recommend an Action 2KS. Its a dual diaphragm, kevlar disc clutch. I have one right now and am in love. Pedal pressure is moderate, it holds like a dream, and engages like stock.

I'll have to find out which action my buddy has....i know for sure i don't want one with that pressure plate, i mean i can push it in fine but it would suck really bad in traffic...i was thinking more along the lines of a Exedy organic or some sort of "stage one" clutch...how about the Action 1KS?

I'm running that and have had no problems. Ran at about 260whp on slicks at the track and now about 300whp on the street. No signs of slipping at all.

I've been running a stock OEM ITR clutch for 3 years without problems.

I say dont change your clutch until you need to.

yeah i guess i'll just leave the R clutch in and see if it slips....if it does could I just buy a 6 puck sprung friction disc and use the ITR pressure plate?

You won't need a 6puck disk. For your power goals I would recomend an act extreem pressure plate w/a street disk. I used that on my b16a that was making about 300whp and it held just fine. Peddle feel is just above stock and I drove that car in stop and go traffic daily to work (1 hour each way).......Easy to get used to and doesn't kill the leg... in my book. The 6puck with engauge harder then a normal disk.

have any of you guys heard anything about SPEC clutches? or South Bend?.....just trying to look at all my options..i realize there isn't any way to re-surface a pressure plate, but could i buy just a new disc (ACT street disc maybe?) and run it with my ITR pressure plate....?

I have the same 250 hp power goal for an LS. Bought an Exedy Stage 1 on a whim.
Will it hold up?

PS Sorry to jack, but ****, it would be basically this thread all over again

i would also recommend the ACT XTSS (Xtreme Pressure Plate and Street Disc).

my buddy has one in his boosted sohc and it feels amazing. it holds plenty of power as well.

goodluck
