How do I replace a radiator?
Hello! Winter season creeped up and i've ran into another car dilemma. Today I noticed while driving i saw a little smoke/steam rising from the crevices of my hood. I stopped the car and noticed that the radiator, in front of the two big fans was leaking smoke. Apparantly a little piece just started cracking. Now, right next to the radiator cap about an inch away is the crack about an inch long. I'll be taking pictures tonight to be sure of it. Anyways, where can I buy one of these cheap and where do I go to get it installed? Is it easy to put in? What caused the crack? Help would be highly appreciated, thanks.
1. make sure car is cold
2. open hood
3 remove a/c bracket bolts
3 remove fan
5 remove top rad support bolts
6. remove trans cooler lines and cap with foil or suitable material
7. place pan under rad adn drain
8. remove lower hose
9. remove upper hose
10 remove rad
replace all hoses and cap when you reinstall.

I don't have any experience with the first two, but I've been told radiatorbarn has really fast shipping.

I think thats where my friend got his last fall. It looked like a decent unit. It was just a stock replacement, nothing fancy. It's been in there for more than a year now and he hasn't had any problems thus far. ::knocks on wood::

a buddy of mine drove his GSR like this for awhile, but we applied some JB Weld on it to hold it somewhat...ultimately, you'll have to replace the radiator.
think about it this way too...replace the rad for 100 bucks...or pay for the tow to get it to your house or a garage

here's some advice. Do it yourself. I got a friend of mine (a Honda Tech) to do it, cost me like $450. After I wrecked my car, I took out the Rad to fix my front end...no big deal. Just mark everything (where you got it from). Also DO NOT REMOVE THE AC COMPRESSOR. Its the smaller looking "radiator" in front of the actual Rad. If you unsrew it...You will have to recharge your AC...(scared the crap out of me)...

replace the radiator.. tape does not work, jb weld is only temorary,, and the leak might get worse .causing an overheating and possible more expansive problems..........It is not that hard to replace just follow YEU's directions and don;t forget to bleed system when done..
Here is a link to a toyota radiator replacement very close to the honda accord,
Best of luck I hope this helps you
