sohc boost question
want to rebuild me d16z6 so i can use more boost a friend of mine suggested boring the block .40 instead of stock bore but wont that raise your compression plan on gettin forged internals block gaurd bearing kit and head bolts and possibly other things but would it be better to bore it out if so what compression pistons should i go with. or is it best to stick with stock bore thanks

hes probably talking 0.040 not 0.4
0.040 is 0.5mm wich is the biggest u can get for aftermarket pistons like JE and still have plenty of sleeve

if you plan on boosting I would use 8:1. and as for boring I wouldn't bore too much, you need as much sleeve as possible when boosting, sure a blockguard will help with flexing a lot and is an alternative to using iron sleeves but if you boost way to much say good-bye to your block. Sleeves will only make your block virtually bulletproof

Incorrect.
0.020" is 0.5mm. You bored your block 0.040", which is 1mm over, or 76mm.
