Default clutch issues

ok...so i just bled the clutch. So theres pressure on it know but now theres another issue.

i have the car on jackstands with no axles so i have the abilty to start it and put it in to gear without having to really drive. Ok so this is my situation:

1st and second gear do not have to have the clutch pedal pushed in to go into gear WITH the car on. but 3rd through 5th gear wont go in WITHOUT the clutch being pushed on. so being that i have the car on stands, i can let off the clutch and the car will go up to 20 mph. this is in 3 through 5th. also 2nd but it goes to about 10 mph. but when i just put it into 1st gear the mph gauge stays at 0 in 1st gear and it idles.

to summarize:
why is it going into 1st and 2nd without pressing on the clutch and 3rd through 5th does would it should, only goes in when i push the clutch?

Do i need to keep bleeding the clutch line? im doing this by myself, so how can i make this easy by myself?

thanks guys.

Im tryin gto figure out why it goes into gear in 1-3rd without pushin on the clutch and 4th and 5th u need to push on the clutch. Remeber the car is running.

dude im so confused. could it be VSS, or what?? damn... this is so agrevating.

if the mph goes up youre not in neutral...

do the wheels spin when the mph goes up in "neutral"??

you didnt bleed the clutch right if it will go into gears like that, unless your trans is complete junk

Reading owns you my son.

That is weird - i've seen it on older mustangs though. The clutch doesn't need to be engaged to shift - but thats usually at rolling speeds(under 10mph) and with the foot off the throttle.

It has to be....i can move the shifter left and right like a normal neutral position. Ok..i will try to bleed the brake with some one helping me. hopefully i get it done right. The trans isnt junk, it was working perfectly before i blew my h23. I have no axles on the car, the car is on jackstands, and i was trying to simulate upshifts. I will be putting the axles soon but, i dotn want to if im having tranny issues.

Also the passenger side axle hole in the tranny is leaking sort of. Should i expect this since i dont have the axle in? It only leaks when the car is turned on. Thanks guys for the input. let me knwo what you think.

you need to go one step at a time dude....bleeding the clutch is way way past putting in axles.....that is retarded....if you already didnt have tranny issues, you may now....good thinking, drive the trans without any oil in there....

put some axles in and get it on the ground before you mess with bleeding the clutch....if there was nothing wrong before it should be fine now....

theres definetly fluid in the tranny, i filled up before i even started it for the first time. ITs not pouring out the axle hole. just drops here and there. Ok...so then..ill do what you said. Ill get the drive shafts done and do the bleeding after. Thanks

sounds like some pretty weird stuff. I'm inclined to say throw out bearing or anything else that is preventing the clutch from engaging/disengaging properly.
