Default broken stud on the head replaceable?

I have a B16A head with a broken stud. its the stud you mount your headers onto. just one is snapped. theres still a lil bit sticking out. apparently someone overtorqued it when they were puttin headers on. is it replaceable? if so, where can i get one? any info would be helpful. thanks.

If it's sticking out is there anyway you can grab it with plyers? If not it will have to be drilled out and possibly retapped.

No, you see, those studs are attached to the block, grabbing it with pliers isn't an option.

Depending on where the stud is, and if it's not a show car, I wouldn't worry about it. Just run without that stud..But I would just take it down to a machine shop and see what they suggest.

I don't think the header studs are attached to the head. On my d16 they are just torqued and locktighed in there. I know this because when i put on my greddy header one of the nuts were froze to the stud so instead of the nut coming off it turned the whole stud and it unscrewed from the head.

Exhaust manifold stud attached to the block? not really.

The studs that attach the exhaust manifold to the _head_ are just that, threaded studs. If it's broken off inside the head, drill it out. If there is some part of it exposed, grab it with pliers, pull it out, and replace it. You can use the same thread bolt instead of a stud if you want, and a lot of newer motors come that way.

nethire manifold attaches to the block.

i broke one on my b16
take the header off, get a vice grip. clamp that BITCH down and take it out. take it to ace or any hardware store and find another. use loctite. the one for high heat. i think each end of the bolt has a diffrent thread thats why you need to take it in, but i could be wrong on that.
