Default AFTERMARKET STEREO AND WOOFERS

Okay guys, I performed a search before posting this topic. I'm going to replace this POS OEM stereo and speakers. And I want to put some 10" woofers from my last car in the trunk. I've heard of a module that allows you to use your dash controls for volume etc. Does anyone have a similar unit already that can tell me a little more? On the woofers, do you find it necessary to port the trunk to improve sound and decrease vibration rattles? If anyone out there has a complete custom stereo set up please respond. Thanks very much!

for the control thing... go to http://www.s2ki.com and go to the s2ki marketplace... you'll find it there.. it's like 100 bucks... and it's just plugging in some wires and you're done...

I've got a 10" sub installed in the tool compartment in the trunk. I took the tools and the styrofoam out and placed the sub in there. It's nice, because I can still fit two golf bags in the back.

As per the dash control module, like said above, you can buy them at s2ki. The unit is called DCI. Just go into the marketplace and it's one of the first things you'll see. The install isn't too bad, either. I did it in 30 minutes, and I don't know too much about car electronics. Good luck.

Is the box you have made by JL Audio? Damn things are expensive for what they are.....How does it sound in the cockpit?

No, it's not made by JL. A local shop made it. It doesn't sound as good as an actual box, like in my daily driver, but it's not bad at all. It's not shake-out-your-fillings loud, but plenty of thump for me. I'll try to take some pics tonight and post it.

Nice setup, but upgrade your gear man! I got some nice decently lightweight audio gear if you're in the market.
