alright my car has been running awesome except for the last few days and i have done nothing to the car but an oil change lately... it happens almost every time i go out... my car starts up fine and runs great for about 5-10 minutes and then no matter if im driving or if im in stand still traffic the motor will just die... sometimes itll hiccup and then die but it dies none the less... i think it has something to do with my dizzy because when it does it the tach will just die... even if i still have the car in gear and the motor is spinning the tach will not read anything... when this happens ill let it sit for a few minutes and then itll fire right back up and die a few seconds later... after this happens it takes about 10 minutes for it to fire right back up again and then it runs fine... sometimes itll hiccup but its never died on me twice in one trip... ive even gone on a hour long trip with nothing else happening... please help me with this... i just scored an awesome job that pays a lot of money but the drive there is like 45 minutes without traffic and i live in miami, fl so traffic sucks... thanks guys

My first stab would be the ignitor in the dizzy. If you have another dizzy to borrow and try out, do that and then if that solves it, try to replace the ignitor in the 1st dizzy.

 

I had similar problem. I changed my main relay. problem solved. but sounds like ignitor.
