R was Vandalized - Need Help with Immobilizer
Hi guys,
My R was vandalized, and the thieves stole my ECU
The car is currently parked outside and I need to move it into the garage. However, my garage has a pretty steep driveway, there is no way to physically push the car into the garage. I've borrowed a p73 ecu from friend and fellow R owner, but due to the immobilizer, I can't start the car. Is there a way to bypass the immobilzer without having messing with my friend's ecu? Help is greatly appreciated.

when i use to steal cars, we would open the immobilzer and there is a long rectangular chip and you gotta kinda rock it back and forth and pop it off.
you will get a CEL light.
but you could have searched and found this.

Yes I've done a search and saw the photo posted by Mike M. I was hoping that I wouldn't have to touch the ECU (its a borrowed ECU - I don't want to mess with its internal circuits if possible).

well if you searched, why did you make this thread? if you couldnt find anything in that thread, you sure as hell wont find anything in this one. you could have easily bumped that thread.

you can borrow someone's OBDII -> OBDI conversion with a p72/p28 and drive it up the hill without worrying about the immobolizer.

Thanks for the well wishes guys. We've tried pushing a car up driveway but we couldn't.
If anyone in Sacramento, CA has a: OBDII -> OBDI conversion with a p72/p28 and is willing to help a member out. Please send me an IM, willing to pay for your trouble. Thanks.

LoL. It should on take about 3 people to push it up, if you acquire enough momentum. I'd done so in the past.
