Default ______ Puttin in new valves and need opinion!!!________

well i ran into a lil problem and long story short i bent 1 intake and 1 exhaust valve. The head is a pr3 3 angle valve job JG port and polished head w/ .5mm oversized valves. The valves in the head right now are JG .5mm oversized and i just go in .5mm oversized supertech valves... the bent valves are in cylinder #2 and im gonna be replacing both intake and both exhaust vavles in cylinder #2! will it be fine putting in the same size and kind (stainless steel) valve but a different brand? do you think it will be ok.... im worried about the valve fitting right! THANKS

good question.

when i got my head back from the shop this summer, everything looked great except i got a baggie with my old springs/retainers, and in there there was one of my old valves, a lil bent. so im like wtf. closer look at the head shows that one valve wasn't like the rest. the shop claimed that it will work fine, but i just bought a new honda valve to be on the safe side. they replaced it for free cuz they never told us about it before they gave my head back

i would stick with the same brand so you don't have any headaches

edit: i'd like to read some other input though!

hey wassup jeff...it'll work fine, the only difference i could think of is the flow rate...the new ones will flow different from the rest...but it will definately work.

make sure you check the seating surface on the valve with a sharpie
if it is within spec then its good.
every different valve is different so for the sake of ripping your head back off because something doesnt work right just spend a couple bux and replace the valve with the same one as before
