i jjust got a 89 hatch of my freind.. it's hasn't ran in who knows how long.. i have a 92 cx motor in the back yard. will that head fit on the stock 89 motor, it's dual point injection.. i know i need to change the harness and add a restor box but will the hole in the head an block line up?

 

it will fit, but the cx head only has eight valves. the dx model comes with a 16 valve head. id say your best bit is to upgrade to an multipoint injection system.

 

ok cool..ima just put cx head, mani and everythign else on so ima have to make it multipoint than.. i dont feel like changing the whole motor

I dont think you can..The cx head is 8 valve and the pistons in 89 hatch have valve reliefs made for 16 valve heads..

 

i'll pull the head off this week and see how the pistons are.. if anyhing i'll just putmy freinds old z6 head on

 

if your friend has a z6 head i would put that on over the cx head, and you know for a fact that it will fit and have more power

 

well i dont really want to put the z6 head on cause he has it in the sand behind his house so i would have to get it clean and i dont have the time for that now

 

why does the head need to be changed?

 

it doesn't i just dont feel like changing the manifold it self to a multiport.. the injectors are bad on the dual port.. sincei got all the parts to do the swap ithought i might as well just wanted to know if it fits or not so it wouldn't be a waist of my time
