Default ITR PROBLEMS = not good.

Ok, so im leaving work from nashville and im following a friend from work back home. Well he and i have never been on this road before and wouldnt you know a damn manhole sticking off the ground literaly a foot in the air smashed into my header. afterwards it made a verry awefull deep sound and started running rich. I also heard a noise coming from the alternator sounded like a belt. Its running realy rich also. and my spedo isnt working. I checked the codes and said 2 problems, high voltage output and oxygen sensor 2 port 1? well i coralated the spedo and alternator back to a blown fuse and every time a replace it blows over and over. Is it possible my header is touching something electrical. and my o2 sensors are securely in. i havent had time to get under the car because i work every damn day 11- 9 at oreileys. help would be appreciated.

obviously the issue is the damage. if you actually care about the car, take a look at the issue instead about posting about it.?

we're not going to be able to tell you anything about manhole damage that would be useful.

Check your O2 sensor and make sure it's not grounded against your bottom.... If that's grounded, it will keep on blowing that fuse....

Question, is it the Alternator fuse? if it is then you might want to check your alternator and your O2 sensor out... I've had the same problem with that fuse going out... it was because of a grounded O2sensor.

Check o2 wiring it is messed up and popping your fuse. Your header is probably screwed also.

Your primary o2 sensor wire is probably messed up. My friend had the same problem, he ripped the wire to the o2 sensor on the cat while installing a new exhaust. His alternator and speedo would both go out due to the blown fuse.

I would suggest going back to that spot and taking a picture of the man hole along with measurements.

Whomever maintains that stretch of roadway can be held liable for your damages. It is actually quite easy to get the city to foot the bill. I'd be interested in a picture just to ease my curiosity of how big it is.

exactly, some peaople are to lazy to read the whole thing. i was just hoping to come home to usefull information to help me get started, thanks to you guys that actualy had usefull information other than those with pointless remarks.

but i had a chance to look under the car today at lunch, shure enough there is a hole in my header and the o2 sensor is kinda smashed up into the bottom.. that was just off a quick look. luckly i have some backup cash so new header and a check up on the alternator and o2 sensors while im at it. hopefully it will be fixed soon.

ill deffinately try to get pics of the manhole and im working on geting ahold of the city and if anything, i was on oreilys time, so someones paying up.

man as bad as that is to hear, I had a very similar thing happen to me not too long ago where I ran over a exposed man hole and it dented my Work Emotion really bad and popped my tire. I went to the city and filed a claim and two months later the ******** came back to me like " it was not caused by us, it was the weather and people driving on the road " I just hope that doesnt happen to you. but good luck and fight those ******** 110% of the way, because they need to pay for the damages to your car. Good luck and again I am sorry to hear that bro.

yea its more than likely a wire got split on the o2 sensor and is grounding out. i had the same problem after i did my swap my o2 wire was rubbing on the axle and wore through and would ground out.

I was going on vacation one time and hit a hole on the interstate here in NC. It was where the concrete approach on a bridge meets the pavement... A major area for potholes. I was behind a car about 6 lengths and it was so big I didn't have time to avoid it.. Needless to say two busted rims and tires later I was pissed.. I approached a NCDOT supervisor with photos etc. He gave me a form and told me to send it to Raleigh.. Well needless to say I would have accomplished as much if I had pissed into the wind.. I hope that TN is better than NC with this but don't be surprised if they say you are SOL... Hope it works out for you better than it did for me...
