Do i need a main/fuel realy
22 degrees and 2 am and went to walmart to get some paint so i can finish painting the block
came out and wtf car wouldn't start. turned over but wont start.
noticed that the fuel pump wasn't kicking on, checked all the fuses etc. after about 2 hours of messing with it i jiggled/tapped the relay (gray box with brown plug ) (-nothing was loose ) and car started just fine..
now my question is ....
is it slowly going bad ?
is it a sign of relay going bad ?
is it the main relay or just fuel pump relay ?
or was it just the weather does a 96 dc uses the same relay .i have a 92 hatch
thanks

I've never heard of them going bad in the cold, but I suppose its possilble. If you pull it off, you can open it up and see if the solder joints are bad.

All possible reasons. Don't know 100%. As for the weather, I thought they usually go bad when its too hot?

This is usually the case. But I would imagine the same thing could happen in extreme cold as well. I would suggest replacing it.
