Default power steering speed sensor

My timing belt broke a few weeks ago and im swapping a new h23 into my 96 si. When i was lining up the rear mount putting the new engine in i accidentally pulled one of the hoses off on the power steering speed sensor, is it necessary to bleed the resevoir and refill or can i just refill the fluid i lost when i pulled the tube off. thanks

All that fluid pumps through the PS reservior anyway which should bleed out any air bubbles....I'd say just run the car for little bit while you look into the reservior for any air bubbles.

ok thanks...i just have one more question. I ordered my motor from hmotorsonline and they gave me an h23a3 not h23a1 and i have searched and searched and all i can come up with is that it is a european motor. Is it the same(specification and compatibility wise) as an h23a1?

Wow, never heard of that...I'm sure if anything is different it's just minor stuff. Make sure the new motor is also from 96+ so it's OBD2 like your car. If it's 95 or down it'll be OBD1 and then you'll have issues.

It says H23A3 on the block?

yes it says h23a3 on the block...and i made the mistake of ordering my motor right after i woke up and didnt specify 96+...so i had to change the oil pump assembly, intake manifold, distributor, ignition coil...and all of the assembly mounts, an extra 2 weeks to my swap. I found one site a few weeks ago that said my motor is from a 94-97 european accord with 158hp/156tq...but i dont know what to believe..

yea me and my friend have been doing this whole swap in the townhouse his parents just bought for him. Its been taking us so long to convert that he got a notice from his housing commission saying that his recreational passes have been revoked due to the fact that he violated a policy stating "no major car repairs". You cant exactly blame them though, he does have 2 cracked blocks in his front yard and an engine hoist in his driveway.

it was more of an investment for them, he is just living there while the property appreciates in value. We are also swapping in a b18c into his del sol next weekend so the house just depreciated once again haha Anyways thanks for the help ill post a pic of my block showing the h23a3 once my exams are over. 3 tomorrow...

to bleed the powersteering, have the wheels on the ground, fill up resivoir, turn wheel lock to lock a couple times, re-check fluid
