Default B series ECU for H series??

well me and one of my friends were talking today, and he brought up the point to try to use a B series ECU in the H series... i was thinking GSR, for more aggressive timing, but then, i started to think about the secondary throttle butterflys, and how they would have to be controlled... so would a B series work??

yeah just reprogram it to the H series maps curves and everything. I'm running a D Series ECU (P28). works great and hondata chippable.

will the car run, yes are there performance gains, yes but only a couple of hp in the top end. the car will run like **** because vtec engauges WAY to early and the secondarys engague WAY to late for the h22 and starves the motor of air. there is a dyno sheet somewhere that compares a stock h22 to one run with a p72, im too lazy to look for it.

on another note, i would not want to see what the a/f ratios looked like where the p72 is programed for 240cc injectors and the 92-96 h22 it was tested on had 345cc, can u say RICH!

Actually I'm running a P72 GSR ECU on my 5th Gen. The car runs way better and responds to the mods way better. I've had it tuned to my mods and with my VAFC my car put down 184whp with I/H/E/VAFC/ UR Pullies. My friend car with a freeier flowing exhaust /I/H/VAFC/UR Pullies did 182whp. We were both at the same Dyno and with the same tuner. Only difference I have a P72 ECU and his running his stock ecu.

Once its been tuned, its not the same as a stock p72. either run a p13 or a chipped ecu on an H.

I think i've seen that dyno comparison. The p72 made like 2 more peak hp, but the hp and torque curves were much smoother on the p13.

yeah well if you tune the ecu then its not stock anymore. of course a tuned chipped p72 will run just fine. this person was talking aobut slapping one on there stock. and one last question.. if you have a tunable ecu what the hell do you need a VAFC for? something is *** backward about your setup.

why did you bump this thread, its dead and done, there is no further input needed or required. hp loss if sock b series ecu is run, if chipped a p28 or p72 will un fine when tunned
