all motor a/f
looking for a/f graphs or no.'s from anyone running m22s perferably but any cam with a similar profile will do. just trying to get and idea. looking for readings from 6000-8000 rpm. my motor doesnt make power from 6400 to 7500 rpm. wondering if i need to up the fuel mixture in this range. any input would be great.
thanks.
thanks.
i have dyno tuned it with s200. just wanted see some readings in the 6000 to 8000 rpm range. trying to decide if i want to try and retune these cams next season by adjusting the no.'s or tune with a different set. it will the third time on the dyno with these cams trying to dial the motor in.
heres my graph:
heres my graph:
well first of all whats the setup? Whats the compression?
My guess is either too rich/lean or not enough timing. Either that or its just too much cam for your engine.
Hard to tell without more info.

us type r pistons
2 layer head gasket
rocket valvetrain(flat face valves)
comptech intake
dtr header
blox intake mani.
64mm throttle body
apex n1 with test pipe
rc 410 injectors
again not necessarily looking for a diagnosis just want to see what others a/f readouts are. but any input will help. thanks.

i am guessing by your name that this is in a b18c1?
If so your CR is around 11.5:1.
A safe AFR is about 13:1-13.5:1.
The real power is made through tuning the timing though, not so much the fuel. But its essential to have a steady (flat) afr before tuning the timing.
I have a very similar setup in a b16 and run 13-13.3:1 in the 6000-8000 range.
Your numbers seem low for your setup....especially your torque.
I mean i made more whp and tq on my b16 w/less mods and a crappy tune.
Tune that biatch and you should make some nice numbers. I wouldn't give up on those cams yet. You have enough compression for those cams, but i fear the lack of portwork/valve job is holding you back.

This is frustrating. B18c1 engine, has been tuned twice, timing played with..... a/f straightened out, cam gears dialed in. The dyno appears to read pretty low....we are not focusing on numbers here. The flat in the powerband and loss of torque is very noticable driving the car. The motor is "fresh" and had had a nice valvejob and some clean up headwork. I was there for the tune but did not get to see exactly how many changes with fuel were made to try and wake it up in the 6-7.5k. I know he did try changing timing around with no luck. 32 degrees in vtec if I recall correctly. Maybe someone else with m22 experience can chime in with suggestions. the only thing I can think is maybe this cam profile just doesnt get along with this engine setup. Or like rocket and a few people in this thread had suggested it needs something out of the ordinary..."give it what it wants' It may not be all about keeping the a/f steady.......
I would try a different header. Looks like a negative resonance point.
Also have you check the valve lash. After a fresh valve job the lash will tighten up a lil. Check to see if you still got 0.007/0.009". You can also try 0.008/0.009 to bump up the torque a lil.
13.5 - 13.2 A/F works well.
