yes.....i agree......the type r was designed based on natural aspiration........no matter how much you modify.......this engine wasn't meant to have forced induction.......in my opinion i would go all motor.......

you can get around 210+ if u change ur header..maybe buy an SMSP or Hytech header..cuz with the high compression and big cams lobes, u'll need a better header then the comptech for sure.

What do you want to do with your ITR? If it is straight line performance i would go for the turbo set up you listed. If you want to auto-x your car then definitely stay n/a.

I'm guessing you could make well over 300 whp with the turbo set up you listed. Just depends on how much boost you want to run. How about a supercharger?

well i havent really done any auto-x, ive been to the strip a few times....my bigger concern is for daily driving...i drive my car 30 miles one way. i know n/a would probably be better gas wise. but is staying n/a safer than if i were to go turbo?

as for the sc my brother had a jrsc on his and he didnt achieve much out of it and it gave him problems. id rather just stay n/a or go turbo

the turbo will be just as much of a headache. As some of the turbo mafia guys. Once its dialed in its a bat outta hell, but dialing it in is like going to hell and back from what I hear.

Id go N/A. Aftermarket turbo cars never impress me much. Its like wow, you couldnt build a motor so you had to cheat and add a turbo? Wussy. N/A all the way

If you are still having trouble deciding, drive cars similar to what you have in mind back to back...

Whichever you like more, NA or Turbo, do that.

Tom
(dialing in a turbo is not easy at all like b-diddyr2k said)

Well you can get a boost controller if you're worried about gas mileage. When you're driving to work just turn down the boost and when you wanna rip camaro *** then just boost it up. Sounds like you aren't really into tracking/auto-xing your car. If i were you i'd go turbo.

U'd prolly be able to go <= 15psi..as going more would require a standalone computer and solid sleeves.

I dunno about the gas being an issue. I used to have 11.5cr pistons in my car before I went turbo, and gas was about the same now as it is with my turbo.
U gotta remember the gobs of torque u have. If ur at 100km/h, ur at 35-4000rpm in 5th..u dont have to shift, just mash the pedal and the torque is right there for passing.

However, i will agree with most guys...going turbo and using it on a track is hard, i do it..and i vow that if the motor blows ever again i will go back to n/a.

well if you go turbo , remember that for the full benifit of it your gearing is to short , at least gsr tranny with lsd or evn ls with lsd.
now R block are one of the strongest but yet design for N/A .if you want to achieve 210whp or more which im sure that yo would IMO include making it a 2.0l that way you gain huge TQ.
but also consider your goal ! what times in the 1/4 do you want to achieve ?? if you would be happy hitting 12's the go N/A but if you are aming for low 11's then think what you want from the car itself and also are you doing weight reduction and to what extreme !??

I say sell your ITR and get something else, then turbo it. I would never turbo my R but I would def. turbo a DSM or WRX, something with factory boost - or even a non-VTEC Honda. Just think that in addition to the $$ you'll spend on a turbo setup, you'll also have to swap out your tranny in order to take full advantage of it. Get an old Supra and boost that...you'll be destroying anyone in an ITR. If you've got the $$ to blow on that show car, just get something faster.

the R tranny is fine...all that BS about "staying in boost longer" is just that, BS.

Go with the Toda B Setup, or even a Jun 3 setup!
