d16z6 vtec experts needed!!!!
Block: '93 Z6 Head: Don't know the year of head, but the car does run.
I have quite a dilema. I took apart my vtec assembly on the head. I took off the solenoid completely. I look down at the vtec housing (the thing the vtec solenoid bolts on to) and the piston in the housing has a hole in it. I also knew I had a spare one (housing), so I look at that and realize the piston in that housing is different. Here is what I mean:

See the hole on one of pistons and the other piston does not have a hole in it? Is the vtec solenoid the same for both housing models? And, does anyone have any idea which housing/piston is correct for my year engine?
EDIT: I just looked at the head and this is what it says just above the exhaust manifold: P08-5; then there are a few circles and this is exactly what it shows in the four circles:
<U>1:</U> 9\4
<U>2:</U> /6
<U>3:</U> 2\8
<U>4:</U> 0/6
Would the '93 block and the vtec assembly match the head?

Someone's gotta know this. Come on, I went to Hot Import Nights where I saw a d16z6 in an older body mini. Someone's got to know their ****. Sorry no pic of that.

One of the 'vtec housings' is off a '93 head and the other is off a '94 head. I am not sure which one is which.

The figure 8 kind of like gasket? I have it there, I just took it off for the picture.

I did, they seem to not know the answer either.
