Default CRX climate control fix with civic faceplate?

Some time ago there was a wicked write up with pics from a guy who had taken and modified a standard civic climate control face for a great fix for the crx.

I did a search and couldn't find the link. Can anyone one help shed some light please, thanks a bundle.

More info please! My climate control is cracked where you adjust the temperature. There is a mint climate control on ebay going for close to $200

We could all benefit from this...

If you check my sig I have a cheap way to fix and it is cheaper than Ebay. Click on plates in my sig.

I posted that up a while ago. I had a Civic unit laying around so I grabbed the front plate off of it to cover up and reinforce the CRX unit. It's OEM plastic so it looks good but it'll take some work and a dremel to get it perfect.

Finished product:

Not such an easy task. The civic unit uses cables for the fan/position selections while the CRX only uses the cable for the temperature selection.

correct me if i'm wrong, but isn't the civic climate control mechanical and the crx electronic? If so there would be alot of work involved to make it work. As the saying goes If there's a will there's a way

Hey,Reelizmpro.....is it possable for you to repost all the pics from that thread you made ealier. i really think its a great and tastfull way to restore an older crx climate control with out spending major bucks.

As far as others asking about using the more simple civic control in a crx, you could, but why downgrade?

I can't find it right now (too lazy) but I know there is a thread on here for taking an EG civic climate control and wireing it directly up to you REX, I know it works great because that is what I did in my '90 Si .
