Default type s part into h22a

i am planning to drop type s parts into my h22a motor,so do i need toneed to rebore the block for the s pistons or can i just go with standard sizing or is it not
possible?also it seems best to get the con-rod as well as the pistons is it true or is there any issue using the old con-rod instead of the type s variant?

As long as the cylinder walls in your block look good, you can go with stock bore pistons. I haven't seen OEM Type-s pistons in a larger bore, but that doesn't mean they don't exist. If your cylinder walls have excessive scoring, you might have to have them bored out a bit, which would require a larger bore piston. As far as rods, and somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but on the 92-96 H22 rods, you have to have the stock bushings pressed out for a floating pin style. On the 97+ H22, you can use the stock rods.

the type-s pistons only come in standard 87mm bore and .25mm over bore. if you can't use one of those sizes, you can't use them.

as far as the rods, i'm still trying to figure that out myself.

exactly....the type s rods are just floating pin rods...just like the h22a4 rods....you could get the a1 rods rebushed or just go with a4 rods....

i was actually waiting for this answer myself, cause i have a set of type-s pistons but i wasnt sure about the rods, so if i get an aftermarket set of rods i would wanna get a floating style right? cause the motor i have is just a H22A_
