Default diy ITB's?

ive seen people make home made itb's and it doesnt look too hard

they use the GSX 1000 itb's and a cut manifold and weld longer straight pieces on, then use rubber hose to connect the ITB's to the cut part of the manifold.

anyone do this themselves and have a price range? and info on how to set up the injectors

very interested in doing it

I bought mine off ebay for 200 some bucks but they are cbr954's w/ a cut obx manifold. I jb-welded the stock injector locations with nipples and ran vaccum from there to a gsr iab vaccum box. Stock 954 injectors in the throttle bodies and she ran pretty good but there off now and i'm gonna sell them.

I used a B16a manifold, ported the runners, and used Hayabusa 46mm ITB's.

Maybe you should have used a little bigger or thinner tubing for your runners, they kinda hang out real bad right at the coupler.

Just an opinion, but you will be putting in a lot of heartbreaking work for probably not a lot of reward here. Money would be better spent on upgrading the cams/valvetrain over and above ITR as far as gains go.

ITB's is what you do AFTER you got everything else done to the ****.

Regardless, I believe you will need stand-alone engine management to tune ITB's (AEM EMS etc).

The Toda Racing site has a short read about ITB's under the "Sports Injection Kit" that is worth checking out.

Now let me REALLY hijack the thread.

Sounds like everyone in Winnipeg is going "fully built 2 litre" next season. Beats the sh't out of all that "turbo D" business that never really took off, eh?

Crome
http://www.pgmfi.org

The software is free. You just need to buy a chipped ECU (~$120 all day here on H-T) and someone who knows how to tune Crome. You may end up spending another couple hundred on dyno time.

If you are curious to learn more about how to tune the ITB's, search on the pgmfi.org forums.
