Oil leak in the front of H22, please help.
OK I know ive posted b4 but its pissing me off cause i cant find this leak

its puddling up by the oil dip stick lke its dripping down puddling up there then going on the ground/pan. i cant find where its coming from at all.!!!! headgasket is fine and the v/c gasket is fine to.
i dont know if this has anything to do with it but this only started happening when i started using PUROLATOR OIL FILTERS i use to use FRAMS and it never leaked. maybe its a coincidence. idk too much oil pressure??? an not the oil cooler o ring isnt leaking either... idk cant find it man
look at the pic its puddling right by where the dipstick goes in !!!

Do you have an aftermarket Oil pressure gauge? If so, check to see if the sending unit is leaking (this happened to me). Check the oil filter flange as well. I know this isnt by the dipstick. Check to see if its a ps leak as well. Good Luck.

After the 2 bolts are out it takes a couple of yanks, its kinda a bear but it'll come out. Any oil coming from the cam seals?

Did you check the oil pump and all the lines hoses etc..
Also go get an oil change and a new filter..
Could be faulty or something..
Did you do trouble shooting in the helms manual for oil leaks??

Assuming there's nothing wrong with the filter.....
You say it's "pudding" around the dipstick. Hopefully you've checked the dipstick itself?
I would say it's not:
(a) balance shaft seal - you would lose a hell of a lot more oil than what you described.
(b) sending unit - that's on the back of the motor (and from personal experience it will drip onto your exhaust = embarrassing smoke cloud at stop lights)
As far as the difference in oil filter - the average Purolator does have quite a bit more material in it than the average Fram (http://people.msoe.edu/~yoderw....html).
I would guess that the slight increase in pressure was just enough to push some oil through the seal in the base of your dipstick, especially if it was overfilled at all.
Other than that - the more complicated issue could be your oil pressure regulating valve.

me too. have you checked that yet? if your oil leak is on the timing belt side of the motor, then you need to check all the seals on that side:
cam seals
balance shaft seal
crankshaft seal
valve cover (you said you checked this though)
go down the list and i think you will find one of these is bad.

#11 & 12 on your picture.

ok well pulled part of the timing cover off and found that my belt has some oil on it and if i look down in the cover there is some oil in that area.
im just gonna go ahead and replace the 2 balance shaft seals and the crank seal down there cause thats the only places it could be leaking from ya know
there was no oil on my cam gears and the cam seals look all good so im just gonna replace all the other seals while im in there and a new timing belt AGAIN cause i just did it like 8k miles ago !!!

Get yourself a balance shaft seal retainer(TSB) while your in there so it wont work itself foward and leak on you and mine came with an oil dipstick o-ring. If your doing the cam seals I recommend the STR 3 o-ring cam seal behinde the vtec solenoid for the intake cam and oem t-belt side cam seals.
Cause it doesent look the like the cam seals are leaking the cam gears are very clean and have no oil on them just the belt and down below
