Default Synchromesh ? (searched)

I tried the search but couldn't quite find an answer to my question. My clutch recently went out and I had to drive home on no clutch so I did grind the gears a couple of times. I read that a lot of people recommend the synchromesh, so I picked some up. But I noticed that this stuff is very thin, no where near as thick as the oil we put in normally. Is this ok, or do I need to mix it with something?
Thanks in advance for all your help.

...........perfectly fine - i think the viscosity is the reason why some people use it. I just use 10w30.

A lot of people say the synchromesh works perfectly.

I have a 00 civic with an h22 and I had a severe grind in 5th gear. I use the use honda manual tranny fluid but that would not take the grind out. I used the synchomesh - (friction modified) and the grind went away! But you may have to use it twice cause it takes around 500 miles to run thru the tranny and it really doesn't work unless the tranny is flushed of all other brands of fluid completely.
hope this helps.

Just because you grinded gears with no clutch doesnt mean you need to change tranny fluid..you know that right?

If you dont shift at just the right point when shifting without a clutch the load is to heavy on the flywheel to just pop it in gear and it will grind..
When you know your car really well you can shift without clutch and not grind in all gears..

And I recommend honda MTF always.

Syncromesh is to cover screwed up worn syncros IMO...syncromesh feels great for a while then starts crapping out..

Honda MTF is to give the tranny what it needs. I have never had any problem with it ever.

No. It was all in your head. The Synchromesh did not help.
There was a TSB on 5th gear grinding for the preludes. Find it, i posted it here a whiel back - but that'll tell you why your 5th was grinding. SO does all of ours. I've personally learned to shift without it grinding - but hey.

Yeah I kknow I dont have to change the fluid but I am changing the clutch so I might as well go ahead and change it. Plus my third gear syncrho is on it';s way out the door.
