High Temp paint for intake / header / other engine parts
just wondering how 1500° engine paint would work on intake or a header. I have done it to some of my intakes ( gone through a lot ! ) and they seem cooler after a hard days drive, but what about headers? i wanna use a clear color, ( or aluminum, or black ) but would this burn off or would it actually do it's job and keep it cooler....or would it just do it's job as being paint, and just not flaking off. thanks for any info. later.
you will need some paint that is specifically made for exhaust manifolds. regular engine enamel paint will just flake off.........VHT makes good exhaust manifold paint and it will not flake off when used as directed.
BUT their manifold paint has a sort of flat colour to it. you will neet to purchase their high temp clear coat finish to make it a little glossier.

im not necessarily trying to paint any color onto anything, just wanna keep temperatures cooler ( without using ugly wrap ) so.....any suggestions?

I've sent numerous intake/exhaust components for coating, it does make a difference.
