Default 16's or 17's

17 seem a little to big, but i'm woundering if i will get better preformance from 16 inch wheels than 17, and are there any big brake kits out there that will fit 16 inch rims?

search these topics they have been coverd so many times before.

Go with the 16's, they are lighter, cheaper tire.

There are quite a few big brake kits that will fit. But are you really going to be needing them? NO. Just look into swapping the ITR brakes and upgrade the pads. That should be more than enough. Most people who even track their cars dont even get big brake kits.

Here's some good threads to read. They were taken from the ITR FAQ;

Brakes - Bench Racing
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=718169

Brakes - Brake Rotors
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=779391 - Slotted vs Drilled vs Blank
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=181691 - Autozone Brake Rotors

Personally, i would just get some autzone blank rotors and a good set of pads, like cobalt gt sports or axxis ultimates.

Go with the 16's, they are lighter, cheaper tire, and your speedo won't be off with the right tire size.

Ali</TD></TR></TABLE>17s won't make your speedo off if you get the right size. 205/40/17s make it inaccurate by less than one mph, unless you are doing like 185 mph!!

The 16s are going to be lighter, and depending on the wheels, they'll look better. A lot of 17s look ricer. Like the ones I currently have. As soon as I can, I'm getting some 16 inch circuit 8s. I've heard that the WilWood kit will fit under 16s. I'm going to run the WilWood kit, cause I'm going to need it. The rear brakes, I'm just going to get some good slotted rotors and some hawk pads, with ss lines.

yeah, with my ricer 205/40s, I went my one of those radar things on the side of the road that tells you your speed, and what the speed limit is...it was only 1 mph off @ 80mph.

Sorry about the tire size thing i edited my post, i was told that 205/40/17's messed the speedo up.

BTW, loudassVTEC, what do you plan on doing with the car, i'm jus curious as to why you need the big brake kit.

i wasen't really worried about messing up the speedo, I never even thought of that anyway, but i was woundering if 17 inch rims would effect my handiling better or worse against 16 inch rims, and i did a search and a big brake kit is defintly what i don't need, so i'm going to buy brembo blanks, and some new brake pads. And about swaping itr brakes, arn't they for 5 lug?

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=126318 heres what you need and i think it tells you how to install the itr brakes. Honestly i would just get some autozone rotors, they come with a good waranty so you can just beat the **** out of them and just return them and get new ones. Like stated in that autzone rotors thread willard tracked them at multiple events and just returned them and got another set.

go with 16's, like everyone else said, they will be lighter and the wheels will be cheaper. also, well for me atleast, people tend to leave you alone at streetlights and highways when they see that you dont have GIANT rims.
