Default Engine light on

I get an engine light that comes on when the temp gets to middle and not all the time, dont matter what speed etc but it wont come on before the temp gets to the middle zone..

Today while re routing my vac hoses I noticed the one thing I have not done yet, the PCV valve is bad, would a bad PCV cause an engine light to come on?

Did you look under the passenger side carpet and look at your ecu and count the blinking lights?

youshouldusepuncuation. yes lift the carpet in the pass. side and your ecu is there with a little window. turn the key to the on position and count how many times it blinks. leave the key on for a minute, the blinks will repeat themselves. count them, come back and post how many blinks, and someoneone will help you

must have been one... cause it was 1 flash...... 1 flash..... 1 flash....... 1flash and kept going over 100 lol..

I take it if it was a different number it would have been more like 1234......1234..... etc

correct. it blinks the code, pauses, blinks code... and so on. i'm pretty sure 1 is the o2 sensor. use search to find the code descriptions and make sure. search this forum only for "ecu codes" and you'll find a thread that has them.

if you can afford it get the removal tool also. it makes it alot easier. if it is stuck on you might also get the motor hot to remove it. i destroyed one and had to take my manifold off to get it out.

hey, what would you use to clean the o2 sensor? i ran seafoam through my car 3 months ago and lots of carbon came out of the exhaust, so im guessing my o2 sensor is covered in it also. would i just use carb cleaner? its a relatively new o2 sensor. my mileage ranges from 28-35 city per gallon
