how to remove valve seals?

Default how to remove valve seals?

hello fellas.


so i removed all the valves from the b16 and now i need to remove the valve seals.... I SEARCHD.

how can i remove them without the special tool? (no vice grip is gooing near ny head )

I used a sharp punch and split them down the side.

i use a pair of pliers and alot of wiggling. im actually doing it right now to my spare head..

channel locks or pliers and wiggle away will work

Slide hammer valve seal removal tool and occasionally pliers with teeth to lift the seal a little if I can't get the edge of the hook underneath the seal to use the slide hammer.

when installing new seals do i need to use hondabond or somthing like that?

no just pop them on there. sometimes if i cant get them all the way down by hand ill use a socket that fits over the edge of the seal perfectly and hammer it down some.

Sometimes it helps to install a valve to get the seal concentric. An old valve might be better if you're worried about hurting them.
